It has been a long time we have not posted the updates of the bin.
Besides visitors throwing their refuse and dog poo bags in the bin, it has not received a lot of material, like last summer. It might be too early to be sure but it seems that we collect progressively less plastic on the beach. The reasons could be that there is less plastic in the ocean which is unlikely considering the current projections but more likely that locally we are reducing the plastic in circulation within the sand of the beach.
We notice a clear pattern with pollution occurring principally in the winter months. This year we should have new equipment and a dedicated ranger to keep track of the amount of pollution.
